Our primary purpose is to smooth the transition between being a student and becoming a successful working interpreter.

To encourage networking within people attending different ITPs, people of different experience levels, and different generations of interpreting.
To help smooth the transition from school into the field of interpreting by speaking on information that is learned with
experience.
To build relationships that may become mentoring opportunities. To develop skills, not only signing and voicing, but teaming and interpersonal communication.
To prepare people to have a successful experience in educational or community interpreting.
To provide an environment that is supportive to all interpreters.

MERGE is based in the Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN metro area.
